For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life.
Our Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Our Vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all.
Our Programs Are Effective
During the 2011-2012 year, the following outcomes were reported by our Community Based Bigs on the anniversary of their match:
ˇ 89% reported an increase in their Littles self-confidence
ˇ 70% reported Littles improved their ability to make decisions
ˇ 68% reported their Littles ability to avoid substance abuse was not a problem
ˇ 58% reported their Littles ability to avoid delinquency was not a problem
ˇ Our agency has been nationally recognized for the past 6 years for delivering the highest quality program services.
ˇ We serve more than 500 children annually
ˇ $.85 of every $1.00 raised goes to our mentoring programs.
ˇ The cost to match a volunteer and a child is approximately $1,200.
ˇ There are currently over 400 children in Bucks County waiting for a Big Brother or a Big Sister.
